West Newton – Wendy A. Rousseau – Doucette died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 7, 2025. She was 53.
Wendy Ann Rousseau was born in Newton on March 31, 1972, a daughter of Ronald R. Rousseau and Carol A. (Blakeney) Holley. Raised in Newton her family later moved to upstate New York, and she graduated from Lake Shore High School in Angola, New York. She honorably served in the United States Army from 1993 – 1996 and proudly boasted her title as Infantry Medic. Wendy later earned her Bachelor’s degree from Bay Path University in Longmeadow.
Knowing that life is meant to be shared she later found love again and married Kenneth M. Doucette at Elevation Chapel in Newton in 2023. In addition to her husband, Ken she leaves her daughters, Emma S. Rousseau and Nicole E. Doucette, all of West Newton; her father, Ronald E. Rousseau (Jill) of Waltham and mother, Carol A. Holley (Thomas Cherico) of Buffalo, New York; her siblings, Steven J. Rousseau (Regina) of Grafton and Jennifer J. Castro (Michael) of Hudson; her in-laws, Kenneth J. Doucette (Andrea) of Newton; also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.
Wendy enjoyed work and was a respected colleague at Arosa Home Care Services based in Watertown where she served as its area director.
Life’s love and pleasure came in the forms of family and friends. She cherished the role of mother to her Emma and Ken’s daughter Nicole. Always active she enjoyed hiking and any opportunity to be at the beach. And she loved her four-legged friend, Aries. Over the last few years, she was active in the Newton Rotary Club.
Family and friends will honor and remember Wendy’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake on Friday, June 13th from 4 to 7 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham and again on Saturday morning, June 14th in Elevation Chapel, 150 Lowell Avenue, Newton where her Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Rev. Max Marcoux will officiate. Please go directly to church.
Burial with military honors is Monday, June 16th in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 10:45 a.m.
