Wayne F. Macri, 71, of Watertown, died on Saturday, May 2, 2026 surrounded by his loving family at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. Wayne was born in Washington, DC. on September 4,1954 to Joseph Macri and Helen (Manzelli) Macri.
Beloved husband of Helen O’Malley-Macri. Devoted and loving father of Erin Macri of Boston, Kara Macri and her husband Sean McCusker of Watertown. Proud Grampa of Calum McCusker, whose arrival made Wayne’s life complete.
Brother of Paul Macri (Susan) of Lowell, Pam English (Jim) of Needham and Jon Macri (Shirley), of Tewksbury.
Brother-in-law of Mary O'Malley of Watertown and Jennifer Schiebel (John) of Natick.
Also, survived by his nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A proud United States Army Veteran, Wayne served his country with honor.
Wayne was an employee at Honeywell for many years and later for General Electric in Westborough.
Golf was one of Wayne's passions throughout his life and he always looked forward to his annual get away with the ‘boys’. He was also an avid New England Patriots fan.
Owing to his proud Italian heritage he was a chef extraordinaire at home. He enjoyed making his specialties for family and friends.
Wayne leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and endurance. Despite years of health challenges, Wayne remained resilient, independent and grateful.
His family extends a heartfelt thanks to all who have supported Wayne and his family through the years. Especially the doctors, nurses and staff at the Corrigan Minehan Heart Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, where he was blessed with a second chance and exceptional care.
Family and friends will honor and remember Wayne's life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Thursday, May 7th, from 4 to 7pm and again at 9am on Friday morning before leaving in procession to St. Luke’s Church,132 Lexington Street, Belmont where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am. Burial will be in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
