Virginia (Russell) Dushame

https://my.gather.app/remember/virginia-dushameMrs. Virginia (Russell) Dushame of Belmont passed away at home on Tuesday, January 21, 2026, at age 74. Born in Cambridge to Arthur W. (Booty) and Jeanne J. Russell. She spent her early years in Belmont before the family moved to Waltham, where she graduated from Waltham High School.

Virginia leaves her husband, Stephen Duhame; her son Matthew Russo of Medway, his wife Ana Paula, and her grandchildren Isabella and Matthew; her son Michael Russo of Belmont and his wife Andrea, and her grandchildren Benjamin, and Jaclyn Russo; her siblings, Susan Karyanis of Quincy, Kathleen Grinnell of Waltham, and Rose Sullivan of Framingham; her former husband, Nicholas Russo, along with many nieces and nephews, cousins, Sisters and Brothers in Law and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Jeanne “Jeannie” Keenan.

She found joy in reading, playing games, enjoying warm weather, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Above all, she was deeply devoted to her family and took great care in keeping everyone connected and united.

Holidays were cherished occasions for gathering, celebrating, and creating lasting memories, especially with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Every birthday was important to her; she never failed to call early in the morning to sing Happy Birthday and to make each person feel truly celebrated.

She expressed her love through togetherness, warmth, and creating festive, abundant moments with those she held close to her heart.

Virginia worked for many years in Information Technology where she formed many meaningful friendships through her work and stayed connected long after retirement. Her thoughtfulness and warmth left a lasting impression, and she will be deeply missed.

Family and friends will honor and remember Virginia’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 29th at Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, and again on Friday morning where her Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Highland Meadow Cemetery, Belmont.
