Vincent M. DiGregorio

Waltham – Mr. Vincent M. DiGregorio, of Waltham, died on Sunday, December 14, 2014 in Newton Wellesley Hospital. He was 91.

Vinny was born in Boston on July 12, 1923, the son of the late Michael and Phyllis (Barberi) DiGregorio. He was raised and educated in East Boston and served in the Army during World War II. On May 4, 1947 he married Anna Gallo and the pair moved to Waltham in the mid 1950's where they would raise their family and have lived ever since. For over 30 years he worked as a forklift operator at H.A. Johnson in Brighton.

He was a proud veteran and life member of PFC John M. Sullivan USMC Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10334 in Waltham. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and loved to visit his children's homes to spend time with his grandchildren. He was always active at his own house and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix.

Besides his beloved wife of 67 years, Anna (Gallo) DiGregorio, he is survived by his children, Linda J. Fedele of Bedford, Donna M. Medaglia of Lowell and Vincent M. DiGregorio, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Port Ritchie, FL.; his grandchildren, Troy Medaglia, Richard Fedele and his wife, Caroline, Brian Fedele and his wife, Gina, and Michael DiGregorio and his wife, Laura; his great-grandchildren, Shayla, Richard, Ryder, Alyssa Marie, James, Emma Rose and Gianna and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Joseph DiGregorio, Ernest DiGregorio, Sadie Marrone, Mary Capucci, Rosie Evangelista, Mickey Catugno, Virginia Bruno and Julia Marrone.

Family and friends will honor and remember Vinny's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday December 17th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watertown.
