Valdine M. (Geneau) Miller

Ms. Valdine M. (Geneau) Miller, of Waltham, died at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. She was 76.

Valdine was born April 18, 1949 in Moncton, New Brunswick, a daughter of the late Charles J. and Elvina (Babineau) Geneau. Raised and educated in Canada she immigrated to the United States in 1964 settling in Waltham.

‘Val’ as known lovingly to family and friends worked as a caretaker and aide to Ms. Irene Rose for over 17 years.

A strong woman she will be remembered as always giving, providing and taking care of her family and friends. She and her longtime companion, Phil Doiron enjoyed travelling. She welcomed day trips to various destinations throughout New England which always included a nice meal. She travelled last year to her native and much loved Canada to partake in her annual family ‘Country Fest’ music festival. She loved all music including country and bluegrass but most especially all French music. She enjoyed regular card games including ‘200’ she would play with Phil.

She leaves her daughters, Rachael A. Furbish of Franklin and Charlene Marie Morris (Armand Storlazzi) of Norwood; her longtime companion of twenty years, Joseph ‘Phil’ Doiron of Waltham; her siblings, Donald and Ola Geneau, both of Moncton, New Brunswick and many nieces & nephews.

She was also a sister of the late Aldeo Geneau and Diane LeBlanc.

Family and friends will honor and remember Val's life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Thursday, May 15th, from 4 to 7 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 16th in Calvary Cemetery, 250 High Street, Waltham at 11 a.m. Please gather at the main cemetery entrance.
