Steven C. Grubbs

December 27, 1955 — March 31, 2021

Waltham – Mr. Steven C. Grubbs Sr., of Waltham, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 31, 2021 at Boston Medical Center. He was 65.

Steven was born in Waltham on December 27, 1955, the son of the late Robert A. Grubbs Sr. and Florence M. (Cannistraro) Grubbs. He spent a lot of time in his youth visiting family on Cape Cod. He cherished his time on the Cape and it was always one of his favorite places to visit. With the exception of being with family, Steven was happiest when riding his Harley. He loved to fish, a good game of poker, listening to rock and roll, a nice breakfast any time of day (preferably evenings) and it was rare to see Steven without a cup of Dunkin' in hand. He was a generous man and was always willing to help those in need. Over the years his easygoing personality and 'if you need me, I'll be there' attitude endeared him to many. CK (Calvin Klein) was his signature cologne for many years and his famous quote, 'I'll talk to you later Kid' will live on in our memories forever. To Steve, family was EVERYTHING and we felt the same way about him. He was deeply loved and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his son, Steven C. Grubbs Jr. (Stephanie Brass); his cherished grandchildren, Faith Brass and Steven C. Grubbs III; his siblings, Robert A. Grubbs Jr. (Kathleen), Susan M. Grubbs, JoAnn M. Richards and Deborah A. Rolfe (Leo Cormier) and by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and his former wife and friend, Sheri A. Johnson and her daughter Kayla Pendleton.

He was the brother of the late James H. Grubbs and brother-in-law of the late Stephen M. Richards and was predeceased by many aunts, uncles and a cousin.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Steven at a later date when restrictions are eased.

Memorial donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 ( https://www.stjude.org/ ).
