Seymour K. Phillips

May 24, 1961 — March 23, 2021

Mr. Seymour Karmins Phillips, of Waltham, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in Newton Wellesley Hospital.

Seymour, affectionately called "SK Phillips," was born in Thane, India on May 24, 1961. He was one of three children of William and Anandi Phillips. Seymour was raised and educated in India where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Management at University of Bombay and his Master of Human Resources Development Management at the University of Mumbai. On Valentine's Day in 1991, he met the love of his life, Dehradun native Rebecca Singh. The pair were married on April 20, 1991 and began their lives together in Mumbai. The Phillips' family became complete with their two sons, Andrew, born in 1992 and Stephen, born in 1997. He worked in various senior positions in the field of HR Management and Information Technology in various software companies within India and the U.S for over twenty years. In January of 2008, Seymour was selected to fill a Senior Management Operations position in the U.S. The Phillips family then moved to the U.S. and resided in Chicago for three years before transferring to Boston, Massachusetts and settling in Waltham.

Seymour will be remembered for his love and dedication to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was committed to carrying out the Great Commission of sharing the Gospel with others in whatever available medium. He was outgoing, friendly, and warm. Seymour was innately empathetic to all and could be relied on to help with anything, at anytime, anywhere, big, or small. He was a man of integrity, who valued what was honest, true, noble, trustworthy, kind and right, ahead of personal gain. He enjoyed music of all genres, played both the guitar and the piano, and was a gifted playwright who enjoyed writing and directing plays at the Sharon Gospel Hall and Countryside Bible Chapel Church. Quality time spent with his family was of utmost importance, therefore, he enjoyed going on road trips with his family and travelled across the country on open roads.

He was the beloved husband of Rebecca Phillips; father of Andrew and Stephen Phillips; brother of Loshini Raju and brother-in-law of Joshua Raju, brother of the late Prabhu Phillips, brother-in-law of Jessie Phillips and the uncle of Judy Rogers, Irene Pinto, Linnet Virdi and Sheryl MacKenzie.

His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 2nd in Countryside Bible Chapel, 480 Lowell Street, Lexington. Burial will follow in Mt. Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
