Waltham - Sandra L. Fleming, 86, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who loved her deeply.
Born on March 15, 1940, in Boston, Massachusetts, Sandra was the daughter of the late Elenor (Kamon) F. Roberts and Edward F. Kamon, and stepdaughter of the late Alfred Roberts. Over the course of her career, Sandra worked at Waltham Hospital and McLean Hospital in Belmont as a telecommunications specialist and provided Executive Assistant support for Northgate Apartments in Waltham.
Sandra spent most of her adult life in Waltham, where she built lasting friendships and became known for her outgoing personality and spirited nature. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 40 years, Robert L. Fleming, with whom she shared a loving marriage and raised their family. She was also predeceased by her treasured son, Robert (Robbie) E. Fleming, who died as an infant, and her brother Gerald E. Kamon.
She is survived by her son, Gregg G. Fleming and his wife, Deniel M. Fleming, of Acton; her daughter, Kerry L. Fleming and her husband, Michael P. Mithen, of Methuen; her granddaughter, Alexandra M. Brand and her husband, John R. Brand IV, of Marlborough; her grandson, Andrew G. Fleming, of Acton; and her recently-born great-grandson, John R. Brand V. She is also survived by her brother Gregory Kamon and his wife Karen Whoriskey, and her sisters-in-law Judith Kamon and Carol Fleming, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Sandra was a social person who genuinely enjoyed being around people. Forever feisty and never at a loss for words, she had a gift for making others smile. A bit of a jokester, she loved sharing a laugh and often brightened gatherings with her playful spirit. Whether among family, friends, or even new acquaintances, Sandra’s warmth and personality left a lasting impression.
Family was the center of Sandra’s life, and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with those she loved. She enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of the ocean, was an avid reader, and loved settling in to watch a good movie. The simple pleasures of life, especially those shared with family and friends, brought her the greatest happiness.
Sandra will be remembered for her resilience, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the generations she helped shape and the countless memories she leaves behind. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit, laughter, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
