Samuel Shukri

February 11, 1951 — August 12, 2026

Waltham

Samuel Shukri, 75, of Waltham, Massachusetts, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on August 12, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Bonnie Kay (Brown) Shukri, also of Waltham. They had been married for 50 wonderful years this August.

Born in Beirut, Lebanon on February 11, 1951, he was the son of the late Daniel and Gladys Shukri. He and his family immigrated to the United States in 1968, and settled in Stoneham, Massachusetts. He graduated from Stoneham High School in 1969, and later from Suffolk University in Boston with a degree in Business.

He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1971-1974 as a radio relay operator, then worked for many years at various companies in computer manufacturing, and ultimately, as a Director of Computer Operations until his retirement.

Sam and his wife Bonnie were active members of The Church of the Open Bible in Burlington for over 30 years, where he served in ministries such as church choir, men’s chorus, Sunday School, “Fishers of Men” and many more. He enjoyed singing for churches in special music on many occasions, as a soloist, and also with his brothers, known as The Shukri Brothers Trio.

He had a deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and he desired to share that faith with others. He taught Sunday School and used his music ministry to bless others and to bring glory to his Saviour. He was known by his family to be reading his Bible and spending time in prayer every day, as well as singing and praising the Lord at all times.

Sam was a vibrant, joyful, kind-hearted uncle, brother, and friend. As a father, he was the most loving, supportive, and encouraging Dad. As a husband to Bonnie for 50 years, Sam was her best friend and companion, and they enjoyed doing everything together.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Bonnie, his cherished daughter Laurie Beth (Shukri) Trocki and her husband Justin Trocki of Greenville, SC; his precious grandchildren Kaylen and Benjamin Trocki; his sister Aida (Shukri) Tourian of Simpsonville, SC; his brother William Shukri and his wife Linda of Williamston, SC; his brother Alex Shukri and his wife Elaine of Burlington, MA; as well as many dear nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25th, at Salem Bible Church, 11 Ermer Rd., Salem, NH 03079. Burial is private.
