Sally A. (Haviland) Hartnett, of Waltham, died Friday October 31, 2025 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 75
She was born in Cambridge on April 17, 1950, the daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy (Sullivan) Haviland and was a graduate of Saint Peters High School. A Cambridge resident for most of her life, she moved to Waltham in 1996.
Until her retirement, Sally worked as a clerk at the United States Post Office in Bedford. She and her husband, Jack, spent many happy vacations in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and in Wells, Maine. She was a devoted Red Sox fan and enjoyed trips to Disney World in Florida.
The wife of the late John F “Jack” Hartnett, she leaves her children, Holly A. Miskell (Dale) of Woburn and Jonathan M. Hartnett (Maureen) of Duxbury; her grandchildren, Kaden and Ryan Miskell and Shane, Fiona and Ciara Hartnett; several nieces and nephews and her favorite Golden, "Sully".
Family and friends will honor and remember Sally’s life by gathering for a Morning Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Route 20), Waltham on Friday, November 7th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
