Rose M. (Falcone) Kirchdorfer

June 22, 1932 — April 8, 2024

Milford, MA

Rose M. (Falcone) Kirchdorfer, of Milford, MA formerly of Waltham, MA and Newton, MA passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 91.

Rose M. Falcone was born in Newton, MA on June 22, 1932, a daughter of the late Italian immigrants Diego and Concetta (Zaffuto) Falcone. Raised and educated in Newton, she was a graduate of Our Lady’s High School. She married John F. Kirchdorfer on June 6, 1954, in Our Lady Help of Christians Church. Married for 50 years, John died April 1, 2004. They lived almost forty years in Waltham and Rose later lived in Newton before moving to Milford to be closer to family.

Rose’s work history over the years included various positions at John Hancock, Grover Cronin’s and BC Ames.  She was employed at Distron Corporation in Newton for over twenty years, before retiring in 1998.

While she enjoyed working to help support her family, she loved the role of mother and later as grandmother and was blessed to be ‘GiGi’ to her great-granddaughter, Sophia Rose. Rose loved life’s simplest gifts and blessings. Social by nature outside of family she loved friendships from the Waltham Senior Center and later the Milford Senior Center and the various activities and day excursions they offered. She loved the beach and countless annual vacations with family to Cape Cod which included beach time and countless dinners out. She also loved shopping for a good bargain, the various cats who were part of her life, ceramics, music, dancing and all life had to offer her.  She very much enjoyed decorating her apartment for all the holidays and proudly displaying her large collection of Annalee dolls for family and friends to see.

In addition to her beloved husband, John, she was predeceased by her sister, Sarina Forte and her late husband, Peter.

She leaves her children, John F. ‘Jack’ Kirchdorfer, Jr. of Milford, MA; Cynthia M. Kirchdorfer (Nicholas Arone) of Hopkinton, MA; Lisa A. Kirchdorfer (John Gorentz) of Salem, MA; and Ann M. Kirchdorfer (Stephen Huntington) of Norwood, MA; her granddaughter, Jennifer Corriveau (Matthew) of Cumberland, Rhode Island and her great-granddaughter, Sophia Rose; her brother, Angelo Falcone (Josephine) of Milford, MA; and many nieces & nephews.

Funeral services and burial in Mount Feake Cemetery are private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Milford https://milfordmaseniorcenter.com or Waltham Senior Center https://www.city.waltham.ma.us/council-on-aging or the Milford Humane Society http://www.milfordhumane.org

Also, if possible, we would like all to consider doing a daily random act of kindness in honor of our sweet mom to help make this world a better place in which to live (i.e. saying good morning, good night, thank you or a simple smile or hug to brighten someone’s day).  Love and thanks, the Kirchdorfer family.
