Roger A. Williams

December 30, 1957 — February 12, 2026

Leesburg, Fla.

Roger Allen Williams, age 68, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026. Born on December 30, 1957, in Olympia, Washington, Roger lived a life defined by service to others and a deep love for his family.

Roger was a man of immense kindness and warmth who was known for his boundless generosity. He possessed a selfless spirit and was always willing to help a stranger in need, often stopping to assist broken-down motorcyclists on the side of the road. He was the reliable figure friends and family called upon for assistance, and he would gladly set aside his own tasks to lend a hand. As a skilled "Jack-of-all-trades," he took great pride in passing his practical knowledge down to his two sons. Roger also had a big soft spot in his heart for dogs, especially his Miss Tula.

His passions included the outdoors, specifically skiing and snowmobiling trips up north, as well as annual camping weekends with his boys. A devoted father, he dedicated time to coaching Little League and enjoyed watching NASCAR every Sunday. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Roger found joy riding back roads and attending bike weeks in Laconia and Daytona. Throughout his journey, he maintained a steadfast devotion to his Christian faith, keeping the Lord close to his heart until his final days.

Roger is survived by the love of his life Valerie Williams, his sons, Jonathan Williams and Jason Williams; his brother, George Williams Jr.; and his sisters, Priscilla Flaherty and Barbara Hubacheck. He joins his late daughter Melanie Williams, father George Williams, mother Mae Williams, and his sister, Elaine Capaviella in eternal rest.

Family and friends will honor and remember Roger’s life by gathering for his Wake on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by his Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Burial at a later date will be private.

One of Roger's favorite Scripture verses:  Ephesians 6:10-18

The Armor of God:

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
