Robert L. Tomusko

September 21, 1952 — October 21, 2025

Boston, MA

Bob Tomusko had a lifelong passion for the outdoors and nature. From a young age he loved summers spent with his family on Plum Island. From capturing minnows with his sister to walks with pocket change for a visit to the penny candy store……. he loved the simpler things in life. As life progressed, he loved a challenge and hiked throughout the United States and Europe, in particular Spain where he lived for several years. And while not an official member of the AMC Four Thousand Footer Club, he canvassed and hiked much of the same terrain.

As much as he loved the outdoors and being in the quiet and beauty of nature, he also loved city life. A resident of the North End for many years, his nephew, Gavin, insists that his love for navigating and living in Boston came from his Uncle Bob.

He was a natural with the camera and loved capturing life’s moments and incredible beauty. Bob also had a keen interest and love for music, rock music, in particular. He was easily able to quote musical statistics about the artist or the song. In high school he played casually in a band with his electric bass guitar.

Bob died Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at High Pointe House Hospice in Haverhill following an illness. He was 73.

Robert L. Tomusko was born September 21, 1952 in Waltham. He was the son of the late William R. and Eleanore F. (Rowe) Tomusko. Raised in Waltham he was a graduate of Waltham High School with the class of 1970 and then earned his Bachelor’s degree from Clark University in Worcester. He worked as a systems analyst for Blue Cross Blue Shield Healthcare.

He leaves his sister, Joan M. Schoch and her husband, John of South Hamilton; his nephew, Gavin R. Schoch and his wife, Kasie of Roslindale; his niece, Chandler N. Schoch (Stephen Pluta) of Salt Lake City, Utah; his great nieces and nephews, Hunter, Jane, Harrison and Elliot.

Funeral services and burial at Mount Feake Cemetery will be private.
