Waltham

Robert Riley Morgan, of Waltham passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Pine Knoll Nursing Home in Lexington. He was 80.

Born in Waltham on December 29, 1943, Bob was the son of the late Riley and Dorothy (Teele) Morgan. He was fortunate to work alongside his father as a professional painter during his younger years. This experience not only nurtured his skills but also instilled in him a strong work ethic and a passion for craftsmanship. After his formal education, Robert began his longstanding career with the city as a Senior Custodian at the Waltham Public Library. For an impressive forty-three years, he faithfully served the community, ensuring that the library was clean and welcoming for countless visitors.

In his free time, Bob found joy in staying active and keeping fit. Going to the gym became a regular part of his routine, allowing him to maintain his health and well-being. On pleasant days, he delighted in being outdoors and tending to his garden. Watching the fruits of his labor grow brought him great satisfaction and every fall his goal was to grow a pumpkin bigger than the one from the year prior and he always succeeded. Additionally, Robert had a passion for professional wrestling; whether watching matches on television or attending live events when they came to town, he reveled in the excitement and spectacle of it all. Above all else, Bob treasured the time spent with his family and embraced every opportunity to be in their company.

Bob leaves his loving wife Ann Marie (Samulonis) Morgan; His children, David Morgan, Michael Morgan and his wife Kaitlin, Sandra Gomez and Juan Samulonis, all of Waltham; his grandchildren, Chase, Riley, James, Jasmine, Jisele, Joey, Maria and his great-granddaughter Sophia. Robert also leaves his siblings William Morgan, Cynthia Leone, Raymond Morgan, Wayne Morgan, and Joyce Morgan, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Donald Morgan, Sandra Cristofori and Brenda Bozetski.
