Waltham – Mr. Robert G. Kaplan, of Waltham, died Thursday, August 18, 2022 at his home. He was 71.

Bob was born in Boston on March 29, 1951, a son of the late Sydney S. and Ruth Sylvia (Jaffee) Kaplan, and had lived in Waltham for more than thirty years. Always one to keep fit, Bob enjoyed cycling near and far.

He was a graduate of Newton South High School and the University of Massachusetts at Boston. Until his retirement he worked as an auditor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

In addition to his wife of thirty-four years, Gloria L. (Castro) Kaplan, he leaves his daughter, Jessica A. Kaplan of Waltham; his step-daughters, Maria Patricia Castro of Boston and Sandra Vasquez (Martin) of Framingham; his grandchildren, Erica Beman and Joel and Lucas Vasquez; his great-grandchildren, Alexis, Renzo and Mariah and his sister and brother, Ellen Kaplan of Newton and Stephen Kaplan of Washington, D.C.

Family and friends will honor and remember Bob's life by gathering for his funeral service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24th in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham.
