Rev. Roger C. Cormier

Rev. Roger C. Cormier, of Framingham, died Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Saint Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. He was 92.

Father Cormier was born on January 22, 2026 in Moncton, New Brunswick, a son of the late Leon and Marie Louise (Melanson) Cormier. He was raised in Waltham where his family were lifelong member of Saint Joseph’s Church on Main Street.

Before attending Saint John’s Seminary in Brighton he graduated from Saint Pierre’s School and Saint Mary’s High School, both in Waltham.

He was ordained on February 2, 1961 at Holy Cross Cathedral in Boston by Richard Cardinal Cushing and served the archdiocese as a parochial vicar and as a pastor at several parishes including Saint Joseph in Salem, Saint Anthony in Shirley, Saint Anne in Salem, Saint Malachy in Burlington, Saint Denis in Westwood, Saint Thomas in Nahant, Saint Mary in Winchester, Saint Therese in Everett and Saint Joseph in Pepperell.

Father Roger retired in September, 2000 and lived in Carver for a number of years where he assisted at several area parishes.

A brother of the late Rita Landry, Philip Cormier, Irene Pauline and Yvon Cormier, Father Roger leaves several nieces, nephews and their families.

Family and friends will honor and remember Fr. Roger’s life by gathering for a Morning Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, April 17th from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
