Princess Lorraine 'Lollipop' (Follis) Fenton

August 22, 1934 — February 1, 2024

Plainville, MA

Princess Fenton loved every minute of her life in her eighty-nine years. Early years of haying the fields with her dad in Eastport, Maine and Fourth of July celebrations, to marrying and raising five children all made her very happy. No secret she loved a trip to the casino and was often successful but willing to share her earnings with her family. She also loved traveling, football, sewing and camping.

Princess Lorraine Follis was born August 22, 1934 in Eastport, Maine. One of eleven children to the late William Owen Follis and Leona (Strout) Follis she was a graduate of Shead High School in Eastport she was accepted to go to college in Canada but given her birth name the country would not accept her because it was a title given only to royalty!

Princess lived up to the title and all who knew her would lovingly agree! Also known to family and friends as ‘Lollipop’, she was always adorned with multiple pieces of jewelry on each finger, wrist, earrings and necklaces. The jewelry became her trademark for certain! Shopping for Princess was easy and her husband was on a first name basis with the people at Marcou Jewelers. Birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Anniversaries and all other holiday’s he knew just what to get her to spoil and add to her collections.

She married Waltham native David J. Fenton on August 25, 1956 in Saint Mary’s Church. Longtime Waltham residents, David died on Sunday, August 12, 2018. After 62 years of marriage, Princess moved to Plainville to be closer to family.

She worked in early years as a telephone operator and then for over 30 years as an office manager for General Foods in Waltham.

Princess died Thursday, February 1, 2024 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro after a brief illness. She was 89.

In addition to her late husband, David, she was predeceased by three children, Patrick J. and David W. Fenton and Joy L. Geary; a grandson, David Fenton; her son-in-law, Bruce Gaudet; her siblings, William S. , Robert M., Howard R., Keith A.
