South Easton - Life’s enjoyment for Paula Keane came in the forms of time with family and friends, the read of a good book, gardening and the reward of her hard work with the beautiful blossoms of her plantings and gardens. She loved having her toes in the sand and enjoying the ocean sounds and smells while on Mayflower Beach in Dennis. She loved travelling with her husband, David and she cherished the roles of wife, mother and grammie!
Paula J. Cardarelli was born July 12, 1954 in Waltham one of four daughters to Donna (Deibler) Cardarelli and the late Felix ‘Phil’ Cardarelli. Raised and educated in Waltham she graduated from Waltham High School with the class of 1972 and then earned certification as an x-ray technician from Northeastern University.
She married Waltham native, David R. Keane at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church on July 16, 1977. Waltham residents a short while they then moved to Randolph and later South Easton where they have called home since 1987. Paula worked as an x-ray technician at Newton-Wellesley Hospital for many years before becoming an MRI Technician at Shields Corporation in Dorchester.
Paula lived gracefully and courageously with the effects of brain tumors for over 31 years. She died at home with her family surrounding her on Saturday, May 10, 2025. She was 70.
In addition to her husband of 47 years, David, she leaves her children, Jeffrey E. Keane (Kimberly) of Attleborough, Stephen P. Keane (Lauren) of Framingham and Erica L. Paparazzo (Anthony) of Scituate; her mother, Donna (Deibler) Cardarelli of Waltham; her grandchildren, Benjamin, Emma, Anthony, Louisa, Maddie, Lily and Luca; her sisters, Pamela Vecchione (John) of Centerville, Diana Daley (Shawn) of Osterville and Lisa Pratt (Robert) of Waltham; her brother-in-law, Paul Keane (Patricia) of Glen, New Hampshire; nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Paula’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Thursday, May 15th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. before leaving in procession to Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, Easton where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial is private.
