Paula J. (Washburn) Clancy

Mrs. Paula J. (Washburn) Clancy, of Waltham, died Sunday, November 20, 2022 in her home following a two-year battle with cancer. She was 75.

Paula was born in Waltham on July 1, 1947, a daughter of the late Donald B. and Catherine M. ‘Kay’ (Sousa) Washburn. Raised in Newton, she was a graduate of Newton North High School with the class of 1965.

She had worked for forty-six years as the office manager for Pitt Pipeline of Billerica. For more than 30 years she was active with Athletes Unlimited of Newton, an organization for athletes with special needs, most recently serving as treasurer. Paula also loved to travel with her husband, Dick, throughout the United States and Europe.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved son, the late Kevin M. Clancy, and her brother, Theodore ‘Ted’ Washburn.

She leaves her husband, Richard T. Clancy of Waltham; her son, Bryan E. Clancy (Nancy) of Freeport,  Florida; her grandchildren, Jack Clancy, and Joshua, Sara, and Ava Swift; her step-grandchildren, Austin Claiborne and Kayla Meyer; her step-great-grandchildren, Autumn Hooks and Olivia Kahl; her siblings, Donald Washburn of Arizona, Philip Washburn of Fitchburg, Mark Washburn of Ohio, George Washburn of Waltham, Katherine ‘Kit’ Washburn of Newton, Diane Nee of Waltham, Jean Washburn and Joan Papalia, both off Merrimack, New Hampshire, and Suzanna Gallello of Milford, New Hampshire; her sister-in-law, Patricia Cononi of Waltham; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Family and friends will honor and remember Paula’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Wednesday, November 30^th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday morning when her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
