Paul Corcoran

Paul Corcoran, of Waltham, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. He was 70.

Born on June 7, 1955, Paul was a son of the late Francis B. Corcoran Jr. and Ruth E. (McFadden) Corcoran. He was born and raised in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School.

Paul worked for many years as a truck driver, operating dump trucks and paving trucks for local contractors including D&R Paving and Aggregate Industries. He took great pride in his work and the roads he helped build across the Boston area. He was also fortunate enough to win the Powerball lottery last year.

Known for his good heart and his straightforward, no-nonsense nature, Paul was a tell-it-like-it-is kind of guy whom people respected and trusted. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson and spending time outdoors. An avid dart player, he competed in the Minuteman Dart League, where he once threw a perfect 180. He also enjoyed playing pool and camping, especially taking his boys up to New Hampshire or loading up the truck camper and heading down to Sandy Neck Beach on Cape Cod when they were younger.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Ruth, and by his brothers Peter F. Corcoran, David G. Corcoran, and Kevin G. Corcoran.

He is survived by his sons, Paul Finney of Weare, New Hampshire, and Kevin Corcoran of Fitchburg; his grandchildren, Kaylene and Kenzie Corcoran, Brianna, David, and Andrew Hume, and Olivia Clarke; his brothers, John J. Corcoran of Maynard and Francis B. Corcoran of Wrentham; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Paul’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Route 20), Waltham on Thursday, June 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Friday morning at 9 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
