Patrick D. Fitzgerald

Ashby - Mr. Patrick D. Fitzgerald of Ashby, formerly of Waltham, died Thursday, August 27, 2009 in his home. He was 82. Born on November 5, 1926 in Waltham, Patrick was a son of the late Robert and Irene (McGuire) Fitzgerald and was a graduate of Waltham High School. He worked at the Waltham Public Works Department for five years before becoming a Waltham Police Officer for twenty-six years. During World War II he served with the United States Navy. Patrick was the husband of the late Martha C. (Tuite) Fitzgerald and a brother of the late Edward Fitzgerald, Helen Hawe, and John Fitzgerald. He leaves his children, Patricia Fitzgerald Spindler of Pepperell, Pamela Mulford of Ashby, and Patrick Fitzgerald of Dennis; his brothers, James Fitzgerald of Waltham and Robert Fitzgerald of Bass River; three granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are private.
