Norma (Lerette) McCullough

August 12, 1931 — October 12, 2026

Waltham, MA

Mrs. Norma (Lerette) McCullough, of Waltham, died peacefully at her home, on Monday, October 12, 2026. She was 95.

Norma was born in Waltham on August 12, 1931, a daughter of the late George and Marie (Ouellette) Lerette. She was raised and educated in Waltham and married Thomas E. McCullough. The two remained lifelong residents of Waltham.

Norma loved the ocean and spent many happy days at Cape Ann and Cape Cod. She especially loved painting at Bass Rocks in Gloucester with her sister Grace. She painted sea scapes and landscapes of every season, enjoying the beauty and splendor of God's creation. Norma and her sisters Grace and Jeanne loved to set up their easels and paint at the Wayside Inn. Norma's artwork graces the walls of her home throughout the seasons.

Norma had a lifelong love of music and sang in church choirs for many years. She also sang in the Waltham Community Chorus in the 1980's and 90's.

Norma loved to read and read hundreds of books throughout her lifetime. She and her sister Grace dramatically read books on tape for the visually impaired. Along with her friend, Pat Shupe, Norma helped to provide transportation to medical appointments for senior citizens.

Norma loved the Lord Jesus Christ and worshipped Him in song and prayer with her sisters and brothers in Christ. She was a faithful member of Evangel Baptist/Open Door Baptist Church for 44 years. She is now peacefully and joyfully resting in the arms of Jesus.

In addition to her husband Thomas E. McCullough, she was predeceased by her son Robert A. McCullough and her sisters, Grace A. (Lerette) O’Connell and Jeanne (Lerette) Gaudette.

She leaves her children, Thomas E. McCullough III of Alna, Maine, Scott A. McCullough and his wife Valerie of Waltham, and Diane L. Cappadona of Whitinsville, MA. She was the cherished grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of many.

Services will be held at a later date at Open Door Baptist Church, 300 Pleasant Street, Belmont. Burial will be private.
