Nora J. Nelson

Waltham – Mrs. Nora J. 'Nonie' (Sullivan) Nelson of Waltham died Saturday, December 27, 2003 after a short illness. She was 96. Born in Ireland, a daughter of the late John and Katherine (Connors) Sullivan, she was a longtime resident of Waltham. Mrs. Nelson was an employee of the Lyman Estate in Waltham for many years and after that she worked at the Best Western TLC Hotel and at other LaCava Properties in Waltham. Mrs. Nelson was the wife of the late Fritz Nelson, and sister of the late Mary Casey, Helen Buckley, Anna Gaffey and Eugene Sullivan. She is survived by one nephew, John J. Gaffey, Jr. of Greensboro, NC; two nieces, Katherine T. Lodie of Malden and Mary T. Beaupre of Salem; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. The Funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady’s Church, 857 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-8 p.m.
