Maynard – Mr. Neil Kouyoumjian, of Maynard, formerly of Waltham, died Saturday, November 27, 2021 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester following a period of declining health. He was 67.

Neil was born in Waltham on April 21, 1954 to Ralph Kouyoumjian of Maynard and the late Patricia (Young) Kouyoumjian.

He was a Maynard resident for the past twenty-seven years and before that had lived in Waltham. He graduated from Waltham Vocational High School, Class of 1972. Neil's passion for mechanics and NASCAR racing created the sparkle in his eyes.

He worked on and raced cars, built antique cars from scratch, and worked on all kinds of vehicles his entire life. He was proud to be on the pit crew at the Thompson Speedway in Connecticut.

Neil overcame addictions and dedicated his life to helping others. In recovery for 27 years, he was an avid speaker about his hardships and how he overcame them. He compassionately shared inspiration on how to move on from the struggle. He had faith and was nonjudgemental, helping everyone in need. He was the guy that while seeing someone broken down on the side of road, had to stop and assist them.

In addition to his father, Ralph, he leaves his children, Kristie Forster and husband Scott, Charles McCarthy and wife Shauna, Victoria Kouyoumjian, Neil Kouyoumjian, Jr. and wife Stefanie; his grandchildren, Elektra Febonio, Mavis Joliat, Willow Forster, Sophie, Kennedy, and Nolan Kouyoumjian; his sister and brothers, Valerie Studley and husband Arthur, Ralph Kouyoumjian, Jr., and Jason Kouyoumjian; his niece, Keiran Patry and family; his previous partners, Darie Newman and Joanne Rivers; and Ann Marie (Duggan) Mulvey who he helped to raise.
