Nancy L. (Marrano) Jackson

Nancy L. (Marrano) Jackson, of Waltham, died at home on Monday, August 17, 2026. She was 73.

Nancy was born in Boston on July 16, 1953, a daughter of the late Gene and Mary (Gostanian) Marrano, and had lived in Medford before moving with her family to Waltham as a child.

She was a graduate of Waltham High School and Aquinas Junior College in Newton.

While working at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford she met Airman Wayne C. Jackson and the pair married in April, 1981 at Our Lady’s Church in Waltham.

Until her retirement Nancy worked for years at the Fessenden School in Newton as the Upper School Secretary and later assumed the additional duties of Registrar.

Spending time with her cherished grandchildren brought her greatest joy and throughout her life she loved the peace she found at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester.

In addition to her beloved husband of forty-five years, Wayne, she leaves her children, Alyssa R. Jackson of Quincy and Matthew S. Jackson (Kristine) of Waltham; her grandchildren, Mary and Christopher Jackson; her brother and sister, Stephen G. Marrano (Peggy) of Wilmington and Linda J. Marrano of Waltham; her niece, Heather Hooper (Adam) and her grandniece and nephew, Matthew and Tessa Hooper.

Family and friends will honor and remember Nancy’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake on Tuesday, August 25th from 4 to 7 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham and again at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
