She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and, in earlier years, was an active member of the Mothers' Club at Saint Mary's Parish, where she enjoyed supporting her community and forming lasting friendships.
In addition to her husband, Eugene A. ‘Gene’ Smith, Jr., she was predeceased by their son, Timothy E. Smith; her son-in-law, Robert Geromini and siblings, Ralph H. Wheelden, Jr. and Arlene G. McManus.
She leaves her children, Christopher E. Smith (Denise), of Belmont, Melissa M. Gallagher (Stephen) of Delray Beach, Florida, E. Andrew Smith (Lisette) of Scituate and Martha J. Geromini of Bellingham; her grandsons, who she affectionately called “The Great Eight!”, Matthew Smith (Moriah), Patrick Smith and Ryan Smith (Tesnim); Nicholas Gallagher (Jessie) and Chad Gallagher (Maria), Benjamin Smith and Robert and Timothy Geromini; her great-grandchildren, Norah, Grace, Thomas, Oliver and Rory and many nieces, nephews and their families.
