Marie R. (Valente) Perry

Marie R. (Valente) Perry, of Waltham, died Friday, October 17, 2025 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 86.

Marie was born in Newton on June 1, 1939, a daughter of the late Edward and Frances (Albano) Valente and was a graduate of Newton High School

Following her August, 1959 marriage to Carmen J. Perry at Saint Bernard’s Church in West Newton the couple settled in Waltham and have been residents since.

Until her retirement Marie worked as a hairstylist in Lexington, where she made many friends among customers and coworkers.

She and Carmen enjoyed yearly trips to Acapulco Mexico. She was also a talented crafter and made many treasured handmade greeting cards.

In addition to her husband, Carmen, she leaves her children, Patricia A. Childs (late William) of Waltham and John J Perry, (Ruthellen) of Northborough; her grandchildren, Jennifer Hough (Aaron), William Childs, Jr., Stacey Childs and Christopher, Michael, and Emily Perry: her great-grandson, Ryan Childs and several nieces, nephews, and their families.

She was also the sister of Donald and Joseph Valente and Frances Falvey.

Family and friends will honor and remember Marie’s life by gathering for a Morning Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, October 22nd from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by her Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
