Maria Irene Restrepo

Maria ‘Irene’ Restrepo, of Waltham, died on Thursday, July 4, 2024. She was 103. 

Irene was born in Medellin, Colombia on March 26, 1921, a daughter of the late Marco Antonio and Maria Isabel (Osorio) Restrepo. Raised in Medellin, she immigrated to the United States more than fifty years ago.

She worked for years as a housekeeper in Philadelphia before moving to the Fenway area of Boston where she lived for the past several years.

Irene was predeceased by her siblings, Laura Restrepo Josefa Restrepo, Angelica Ocampa, Arturo Restrepo, Horatio Restrepo, Ines Castro and Graciella Restrepo.

She leaves several nieces, nephews and their families.

Family and friends will honor and remember Irene’s life by gathering to visit at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9th in the Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by her funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
