Louis P. Andrews

Waltham – Mr. Louis P. Andrews passed away at home on Sunday, September 27, 2026. He was 77. 

Born on December 21, 1948, in Cambridge, Louis was the son of the late Louis P. and Mary Eleanor (MacDonald) Andrews. Raised in Watertown, he was a graduate of Matignon High School and later earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston College.

In 1971, Louis married the love of his life Theresa, a Bronxville, New York native. They made Waltham their home, where they built a life filled with family, friendship, and countless memories.

Louis enjoyed a long and successful career as an operations manager for Cowen and Company in Boston, where he worked for more than 40 years before retiring in 2014.

For Louis, life’s greatest pleasures were simple ones: good friends, monthly card games, and trips to “The Brook.” He took great pride in his home where he could almost always be found tending to a project, working in the yard, or caring for his wife’s tomato plants.

Affectionately known as the “Mayor of Wilbur Street", Louis was always looking out for his neighbors, lending a hand before he was ever asked. He had a generous spirit and a kind heart, and he gave freely of his time, his talents, and himself to his family, friends, and community where he served on the Conservation Commission for the City of Waltham.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, Theresa, he leaves his son, Christopher M. Andrews (Nam Le) of South Boston; his siblings, Stephen Andrews of Del Ray, Florida, Janice Burke (Thomas), Cheryl Banks (Thomas), and Edward Andrews (Eileen) all of Waltham; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.

A Celebration of Life is being planned.
