Lorraine R. Krimsky

Lorraine R. Krimsky of East Hampton, NY and Weston, MA died peacefully, with family by her side, in her Massachusetts home after a period of declining health.

She was born on July 14, 1929 in New York City. She was the oldest child of Morris and Anna (Ostrowsky) Kikoen. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Eugene L. Kikoen and her loving husband of 52 years, Walter J. Krimsky. She and Walter lived in Brooklyn, Bayside and Chappaqua, NY before retiring to East Hampton, NY and Weston, MA.

Lorraine graduated from Evander Childs High School and Hunter College. She also earned a Master of Science in Education from Queens College in NY. She enjoyed a successful and rewarding career as a junior high school math teacher in the NYC school system for 25 years.

Lorraine is survived by two devoted daughters and their spouses, Claudia Krimsky and her husband Gregory Kee of Weston, MA and Barbara Binder and her husband William of Menlo Park, CA. She is also survived by two beloved grandchildren Julia Coral Krimsky Kee and Laura Rose Krimsky Kee as well as several nieces and nephews.

Dundee, as she was affectionately known, will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, mentor and a terrific cheerleader and supporter of all the activities and endeavors of her friends and family members. She was a regular presence at her grandchildren’s sporting, scouting and performing arts events.

Her family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and staff at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for their excellent care and compassion as well as her aides – Slivia, Terri, Sarah, and Maggie – who helped her navigate the final years of her life.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Lorraine’s life on Sunday April 16th at 2:00 p.m.  This will take place in the Reading Room of the Weston Art & Innovation Center, located at 356 Boston Post Road, Weston, MA.

Donations in Lorraine’s memory may be made to the Friends of Weston’s Council on Aging, Inc. (EIN: 11-0016148) or the Friends of the Weston Public Library Inc. (EIN: 22-2866701).
