Lois A. (O'Donnell) Meadows

October 5, 1945 — September 25, 2022

Lois Meadows loved her time in Ogunquit as often as time could afford her but minimally for her summer stay each year. Walks along the Marginal Way, sunsets with a cold drink in hand and a great dinner at her favorite spot, Barnacle Billy's in Perkins Cove along, with the company of her family provided Lois wonderful rest and blessings.

Lois A. O'Donnell was born October 5, 1945 in Cambridge a daughter of the late John R. and Mary T. (Carver) O'Donnell. Raised in Arlington she graduated from Arlington High School and then earned her certificate in hair dressing. She began work in local hair dressing shops and eventually had her own salon but her real life's calling came as a result of her dad's work. The John O'Donnell Funeral Home in Arlington Heights was a well-known and regarded funeral home for the residents of Arlington and beyond. Lois eventually began helping her dad with caring for the deceased as the hairdresser and branched out to help many other funeral homes in the greater Boston area. She loved her work and it kept her tied to her family's business. Her funeral home owner clients became longtime friends that relied upon her wonderful ability to help bring comfort to families with her endless talents as a hairdresser. Lois worked for over 50 years before retiring.

She married David J. Meadows on June 22, 1987 and married for almost 35 years Dave died on January 4, 2022.

Outside of work she was a talented sewer. Always in fashion she once owned a clothing store in Lexington. Lois loved decorating and her home was always ready for each holiday. And throughout her life she always had the company of a golden retriever, most recently Brady who was her companion as life transitioned from the onset of Alzheimer's disease eight years ago.

Lois died on Sunday, September 25, 2022 in Pine Knoll Nursing Center in Lexington. She was 76.

She leaves her daughter, Dina M. Warwick and her husband, Christopher of Woburn; her grandchildren, Christopher and Morgan Warwick; her niece, Erin Papaleo (Ronald) of Arlington. She was the sister of the late Eileen Kennery.
