Laura A. (Viscogliosi) Short

Mrs. Laura A. (Viscogliosi) Short, of Waltham, died Sunday, July 13, 2025 in Meadow Green Nursing Home in Waltham. She was 99.

Laura was born in Waltham on December 21, 1925, a daughter of Italy natives, the late Santo and Philomena (Cassanelli) Viscogliosi. A Waltham High School graduate, she went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from the Catherine Dell Secretarial School in Boston and had worked as an administrative assistant at Kirsch Real Estate and Insurance for many years. 

She married World War II veteran Robert Short on April 19, 1952 in Sacred Heart Church. The pair shared more than sixty-five wonderful years together until his passing in January, 2017. Laura was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved her family beyond measure.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother and sisters, John Viscogliosi, Lisa Chamallas, and Mae and Clara Viscogliosi.

She leaves her daughters, Joan Cincotta (Robert) of Burlington and Judy Kelley of Stoneham; her grandchildren, Andrew Cincotta (Amanda), Christopher Cincotta (Sarah), Peter Cincotta (Sarah), and Elizabeth Dunleavy (Thomas); her great-grandchildren, Owen, Oliver, Sawyer, Piper, Liliana, Claire, Theo, and Bennett Cincotta and Jackson and Lucas Dunleavy; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Funeral services for Laura are private.
