Kimberly A. (Conzo) Strafford

February 4, 1976 — February 23, 2023

Waltham

Mrs. Kimberly A. (Conzo) Strafford, of Waltham, died Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.  She was 47.

Kim was born on February 4, 1976 to James M. Conzo (Carol) of Maynard and the late Karen M. (Hoyt) Stanley. Raised and educated in Waltham, she was a Waltham High School graduate and continued her studies at Syracuse University where she earned her theatre degree in 1998. Following college she returned to the Boston area to attend Emerson College where she obtained her Master’s degree.

In young adulthood she moved to New York City and realized her dream of helping others while working in a field she loved. She founded Story Shifters, a program that helped students of all ages gain confidence and express their creativity through acting and sharing their own stories. Kim was a kind, warm, and generous soul who touched many. It was in New York where she met New Jersey native, Daniel Strafford.

One of her happiest days came on November 1, 2008, when she married Dan in Littleton. The pair began their life in Westfield, New Jersey, then on to Queens, New York, before moving to Waltham in 2015. Kim had most recently been working with The WorryWoos Company and with the Waltham Recreation Department where she participated in various programs. She was also a proud former member of the Actors Equity Association.

In addition to her husband, Daniel J. Strafford of Waltham, she leaves her beloved daughters, Nora, Maeve, and Aelish Strafford; her father, James M. Conzo (Carol) of Maynard; her sisters and brother, Dawn O’Neill (Ed) of Littleton, Christina D’Amico (Joe), Sarah Lachapelle (Danny), and Kevin Conzo of Dallas, Oregon; her brothers-in-law, Timothy Strafford, Steven Strafford, and their families; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends from Waltham, New York, New Jersey, and beyond.

Kim was also the daughter of the late Karen M. (Hoyt) Stanley and step-daughter of the late David Stanley.

Family and friends will honor and remember Kim’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, March 17th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning, March 18th, in First Parish Church, 50 Church Street, Waltham where her Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m.
