Kenneth A. Gouveia, of Waltham, died at home on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. He was 89.
Born in Stoughton on July 24, 1936, Kenny was the son of the late Anthony and Isabel (Rodrigues) Gouveia. He moved to Waltham in 1962 and married Sandra Hansen on January 25, 1963, at St. Jude’s Church in Waltham. Together they built a loving home and raised their family in Waltham, where they shared more than six decades of marriage.
For thirty years Kenny worked as a dedicated union laborer in the construction industry, specializing in forms and foundations, and was a proud member of Local 138.
After retiring, he found joy in fishing at the Country Pond Fish & Game Club in Newton Junction, New Hampshire, and at Newfound Lake in Bridgewater, New Hampshire. He was an avid coin collector and took great pleasure in his beloved 1990, blue and silver, Chevy Silverado truck.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Kenny will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his quiet strength, and the deep love he had for his family.
Kenny is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Sandra L. (Hansen) Gouveia; his son, Kenneth A. Gouveia, Jr. of Waltham; his daughter, Katherine M. MacLeod and her husband, Dana, of Upton; his brothers, Nelson Gouveia of Easton and Ronald Gouveia of Stoughton; his sister, Eileen Hobson; and his six cherished grandchildren, Michelle MacLeod, Katie MacLeod, Scott MacLeod, Shayla MacLeod, Shawn MacLeod, and Kenneth M. Gouveia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Family and friends will honor and remember Kenny’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, July 9th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 11 a.m. on Friday morning when his Funeral Service will be held. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham
