Judith A. (Connolly) Chiasson

Judith A. "Judy" (Connolly) Chiasson, of Waltham, died on Sunday, September 3, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at Riverbend of Natick after a long, arduous, and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 80.

Judy was born in Newton on April 14, 1943, a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Marguerite ‘Peg’ (Connor) Connolly. Raised in Waltham, she was a graduate of Saint Charles High School and had been a lifelong resident of the city.

Judy was fiercely loyal and was loved by those who knew her. She was affectionately known as “Nanny”, not only to her grandchildren but to everyone who met her. Her faith was a hallmark of her life, and being a devout Irish Catholic mother she instilled love and compassion in her children and grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy than her family. She never missed a sporting event, dance recital, school play or cheering competition.

Judy was also a consummate hostess with wonderful gatherings in her home with family and friends, especially Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed many trips with her family to Disney World.

She leaves her children, Joseph P. Chiasson of Waltham, William P. Chiasson (Nicole) of Natick, and Kerrie L. Blanchard (Thomas) of Waltham; her grandchildren, Joseph Caissie (Victoria), Tori, Connor, and Alexa Blanchard, and Olivia, Will, and Sophia Chiasson; her great-grandchildren, Shaye and Patrick Caissie; her siblings, Joseph Connolly of Framingham and Paul Connolly (Lorry) of Waltham; and many nieces, nephews and their families and dear friends.

Judy was also the sister of the late Sheila Connolly.

Family and friends will honor and remember Judy's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Wednesday, September 6th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
