Mr. Joseph L. Thibodeau, of Waltham, died Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton. He was 36.

Joe was born on July 27, 1985 to Louis C. and Maryellen (Mackey) Thibodeau. He was raised and educated in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School where he played on the football team. He was a 2015 graduate of Western Governors University and had most recently been working as an IT Manager at RTN Credit Union.

He had a passion for music and played the bass in several local bands. He also enjoyed following Boston sports teams, especially the New England Patriots.

In 2013 he married Meghan V. Bernotas and the pair lived in Stoughton for a short time before settling back in Waltham. Nine months ago their lives were made complete with the birth of beautiful twin daughters, Molly and Jenna. Joe loved being their doting Dad; spending time with them and Meghan brought Joe his greatest joy.

In addition to his beloved wife, Meghan V. (Bernotas) Thibodeau and his daughters, Molly and Jenna Thibodeau, he leaves his parents, Louis and Maryellen (Mackey) Thibodeau of Waltham; his brother, William L. Thibodeau (Amanda), and his nephew and niece, William and Elizabeth Thibodeau.

Family and friends will honor and remember Joe's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20),Waltham on Thursday, January 6th from 4 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
