Joseph A. Bozak of Waltham died Sunday, August 24, 2025, after a period of declining health. He was 71.
Born on January 28, 1954, Joe was the son of Mary T. (Giles) Bozak of Waltham and the late Joseph H. Bozak Jr. Joe graduated from Waltham High School class of 1972.
He owned and operated Waltham Oil Heat for many years up until he joined the Waltham Fire Department in 1987 and proudly served the city for 30 years until his retirement in 2017. He was stationed on Moody St and served as the Aide to the Deputy Chief.
Joe leaves his loving partner Carol Gorman of Framingham who was by his side everyday throughout his illness. He leaves his daughters Michelle Morse (Josh) of Maynard, Amy Engles (Mark) of Waltham, Suzanne Tildsley (Ryan) of Tewksbury, his grandchildren Gracie Morse and Lily Morse of Maynard, Logan Tildsley and Lawson Tildsley of Tewksbury, his brothers John D. Bozak and James W. Bozak both of Waltham. He also leaves his former wife Margaret Valenzano of Tewksbury.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joe’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake in the Joyce’s Funeral Home 245 Main St., Waltham on Wednesday, September 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Thursday morning where his funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery Waltham.
