Jose Eduardo Granados

July 16, 1950 — July 26, 2021

Mr. Jose Eduardo Granados, of Waltham, passed away peacefully in his home on July 26, 2021 with his loving family by his side. His battle to overcome COVID was a courageous one. Despite the challenges, Eduardo came out a hero and remained strong until the end. He was 71 years old.

Eduardo was born in Usulutan, El Salvador on July 16, 1950. Always having a passion for cars, he studied Aviation Mechanics in Ciudad Delgado and soon thereafter began his career in the automotive industry. On November 19, 1973, he married the love of his life, Blanca Emilia Fuentes. The couple began their family in El Salvador before a move to the U.S. in 1980, living briefly in Brighton before settling in Waltham where they raised their four children and have lived since 1982.

Eduardo loved rebuilding classic cars and his passion turned into a career of more than forty years. Nothing made him happier than packing his children and their friends into one of his favorite sports cars and taking them for an adventure. His family and his faith were the center of his life. He was an active and integral member of his church, Ministerio Evangélico Ríos De Agua Viva on Main Street in Waltham. There, he was a constant presence with his affable nature and willingness to help anyone in any way. He lived for his wife, children, grandchildren, and community. For many years, he and his family looked forward to their trips to El Salvador to spend time with extended family and friends. When at home, Eduardo's most enjoyable times were spent with family, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, taking them to feed the ducks, and watching them do silly dances around the house. His family will miss his warm smile, big hugs, and unconditional love.

Besides his devoted and loving wife, Blanca Emilia (Fuentes) Granados, he leaves his children, Blanca Medina (Alberto) of Waltham, Erick Granados (Danielle) of Revere, Margarita Elliot (Ronald) of Waltham and David Granados (Sara) of Waltham; his grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Alexia, Calina, Mason, Devin and Luke; his mother Susana Margarita Granados and his siblings, Samuel Granados and Guadalupe Granados. He is also survived by many of his adoring family members and beloved friends.

Family and friends will honor and remember Eduardo's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, July 30th from 4 to 8 p.m. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Ministerio Evangélico Ríos De Agua Viva, 545 Main Street, Waltham. Burial will follow at Mt. Feake Cemetery, Waltham.

The family kindly requests that all visitors wear masks while attending services.
