Jordan W. Nemes

December 10, 1998 — June 27, 2025

Shrewsbury, MA

Shrewsbury- It wasn’t until Jordan Nemes’s Senior year at Shrewsbury High School where he picked up the game of golf…and the rest is history! If he could have made golf his life’s work and played well enough to be on the PGA he’d be there! In fact, he worked at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston and it’s no secret amongst his co-workers that he would occasionally need to be reminded that the golf games came after the work was done, not while working! He really found his passion with golf and played countless rounds as often as possible.

Jordan William Nemes was born December 10, 1998 in Worcester a son of William C. and Amie D. (Bourie) Nemes. Raised and educated in Shrewsbury he graduated from Shrewsbury High School with the class of 2017. He loved hockey and played on its team helping to bring them to the State Championship in 2014 and then again in 2017. Jordan then went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst in 2021 where he continued his love for hockey in an intramural league.

Jordan was most recently working as a Senior Sales Account Manager for Trustmark Co. in its New England region. He was a respected colleague and enjoyed his work.

Always one to give and rally for the underdog, he was genuine and deeply caring as he quietly championed and helped others. In his early teen years, he served a couple of church missions in the Dominican Republic.

And if Jordan wasn’t on the golf course he was watching the sport on television or in person. He was recently in Connecticut at the Travelers PGA Tournament, with plans to attend the Ryder Cup in Bethpage, New York in September. Locally, he was a regular on the links at both Cyprian and Green Hill Golf Courses.

Jordan was learning and trusting each day that God would grant him the serenity to accept the things he could not change; courage to change the things he could; and wisdom to know the difference. He died unexpectedly on Friday, June 27th in UMASS Medical Center with his family at his side after being stricken ill at home the previous Monday. Jordan’s final gift was that of organ donation.

Bobby Jones was quoted ‘Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots and good breaks from bad shots…but you have to play the ball where it lies.’ Rest easy Jordan and now know the comfort of sweetness and peace. And also know the love you gave is the love you took…times a million.

In addition to his parents, Amie and Bill, he leaves his sister, Ashleigh D. Nemes; his grandparents, George E. and Linda P. (Moran) Bourie; aunts and uncles, Jennifer Vibber (Jeff), Melissa Dupuis (Chris), Joanne Lenke (Roger), Margaret Serra (Mark), Walter Nemes (Nancy) and Kathy Chase (Bob); also survived by many cousins and friends.

Family and friends will honor and remember Jordan’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake on Thursday, July 10th at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club, 284 East Temple Street, Boylston from 4 – 7 p.m. His funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, July 11th at First Congregational Church, 19 Church Rd., Shrewsbury at 11 a.m. The Rev. Holly MillerShank will officiate.
