John F. "Jack" Kennedy

John F. "Jack" Kennedy of Watertown, formerly of Belmont and Waltham, lost his decade long battle with Alzheimer's disease surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday, December 19, 2021 in the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Boston. He was 80.
Mr. Kennedy was born in Boston on May 3, 1941, a son of the late Robert and Catherine (Hurley) Kennedy. He was raised in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School, Class of 1959, where he was a member of the golf team.
Jack was an avid golfer who started in his youth as a caddy master at the Oakley Country Club. In later years, he golfed at the Marlborough Country Club and other clubs across Massachusetts with his brothers and lifelong friends.
Jack was a sales representative for nearly 40 years with L.E. Muran Company, a family-run office products and furniture company that later became Office Depot.
He and his wife, Pat, were married on April 25, 1964 in Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Haskell, New Jersey. They raised their family in Watertown, later moving to Belmont and then Waltham where Pat cared for Jack at their home until he moved into long-term care in 2017. Over their 57 years of marriage, they loved spending time together and with their family and friends, especially their three grandchildren. They each brought much joy to Jack's life even when he was no longer able to communicate with words.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (McCrum) Kennedy; his children, Susan Kennedy Brotter of Merrick NY and Kathleen A. McCarthy (John) of West Roxbury; his grandchildren, Isabel Brotter, Sean McCarthy, and Casey McCarthy; his sister, Kathleen Flinn (Randy) of California; his brothers, Robert Kennedy (Diane) of Florida and Bruce Kennedy (late Rita) of Delaware; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jack's life by gathering for his Funeral Mass on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10 am in Saint Patrick's Church, 212 Main Street, Watertown. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
