Jeannette A. (Malay) Asadoorian - Doherty, of Waltham died Saturday at Lahey Hospital in Burlington. She was 94.
Jeannette was born in Danbury, Connecticut on November 1, 1931, a daughter of the late William and Mary Louise (Britten) Malay. She was raised in Cambridge and was a graduate of Cambridge High School.
She had been a longtime resident of Lexington before moving to Waltham. Jeannette was a volunteer for years at the Children’s Dyslexia Center in Lowell. Her skill at knitting, sewing and crocheting provided a lifetime of cherished gifts for her family.
She was the wife of the late John H. Asadoorian and Robert F. Doherty, she leaves her children, William P. Asadoorian of Waltham, J. David Asadoorian (Ann Marie) of Concord, Nancy L. Barry (William) of Billerica and Karen S. Costanza (James) of Canton, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and their families.
Jeannette was also the sister of the late Master Sgt. Howard Malay.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jeannette's life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, July 23rd from 4 to 7 p.m. A Eucharistic Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 24th at 10 a.m. in Christ Church, 750 Main Street, Waltham. Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Children's Dyslexia Center, Boston North, 79 Dutton Street, Lowell, MA. 01852.
