Jeanne F. Cronin

July 19, 1925 — January 14, 2022

Watertown – Mrs. Jeanne F. (MacDonough) Cronin, of Watertown, died peacefully following a period of declining health on Friday, January 14, 2022 at South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, Ohio with her family by her side. She was 96.

Jeanne was born on July 19, 1925, a daughter of the late J. Vincent and Margaret F. (Mahoney) MacDonough. She was a proud lifelong resident of Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School in 1943 and four years later earned her bachelor's degree from Regis College in Weston. It was while studying at Regis that she met Ed Cronin who was attending Boston College. The pair were wed at Saint Luke's Church in Belmont and raised their sons and daughter in Watertown. She followed all of her children's sporting and school events and became an enthusiastic Red Sox and Patriots fan in later years.

After raising her family Jeanne went to work as a secretary at McLean Hospital in Belmont where she made many lifelong friends. Kind, gracious, warm and loving are all words that could best describe Jeanne. She enjoyed the company of family and friends and her home was a place where all felt welcome.

The wife of the late Dr. Edward J. Cronin, she leaves her children, Edward J. Cronin, Jr. (Carolyn) of Brevard, North Carolina, Barry M. Cronin of Charlotte, North Carolina and Patricia C. Burgess of Twinsburg, Ohio; her grandchildren, LtCol Robert Cronin, USMC, Meghan Wilson (Michael), McNeil Cronin (Kelly), Capt.
