Jean Marie Yves Morpeau

Waltham – Mr. Jean Marie Morpeau died Thursday, June 6, 2025 in Lahey Medical Center in Burlington after an illness. He was 70.

Jean Marie was born June 27, 1954 in Cayes, Haiti a son of the late Joseph Morpeau and Idamanthe (Joscelyn) Morpeau. Raised and college educated in Haiti, he immigrated to the United States in 1981. He also received his Degree in Engineering from Wentworth Institute. He worked as a land surveyor for over 20 years and retired 2016.

Jean Marie loved all types of music but especially his native ‘Kompa’ Haitian music as well as classical. He loved traveling and sports, especially basketball and soccer. 

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jasmine (Jean) Morpeau; his children, Joseph Morpeau of Waltham, Jessica Morpeau of Boston, and Kimberly Morpeau of San Diego; his grandchildren, Gianna and Jizelle Morpeau; his sister, Marie Josie Morpeau of Georgia; and her children, Rudleck, Nedgby, Kendrick, & Dylanka Marcelin; his nieces and nephew, Shaner, Nadege and her children, Jonathon and Georgeson, Chantal and her children Bria, Felicia, and Tony, Marie Flore, her husband, Nickson, and her children Florine, Noah, and Hope; his cousins, Franz and his wife, Olivia Minuty, Jean Gardy, Jack Alex, Ernest, and Julian Munity, Amaline, Marie Renee, Nirvel, Adrien Morpeau.

Funeral services will be private.
