Jane E. Giordano

March 10, 1944 — October 31, 2026

Watertown

Jane E. (Sellers) Giordano, of Watertown, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, October 31, 2026. She was 82.

Jane was born in Cambridge on March 10, 1944, a daughter of the late Chester and Bernadine (DeFlorio) Sellers. A 1961 graduate of Saint Mary’s High School in Waltham, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Emmanuel College in Boston.

Until her retirement she worked for a number of years as the receptionist at Boston Catholic TV where her warm smile and friendly nature earned many friends among the staff and visitors. Before that she taught religion classes at Trinity Catholic High School in Newton.

Following her May, 1965 marriage to John P. Giordano in Saint Luke’s Church in Belmont the pair made Watertown their lifelong home.

Both Jane and John’s faith remained at the center of their lives. Active in the Archdiocese of Boston in its Office of Evangelization they were also faithful communicants of Saint Luke’s Parish. They were very involved in marriage encounter, the single adults ministry ‘Barnabas’ as well as the Teen Encounter Ministry and RCIA Program. Jane and John were members of the founding team for Cite Soleil Companions in Christ (CSCC) which helps the people of Haiti in countless efforts to improve health, educational opportunities and more.

They enjoyed sixty happy years together until John’s death on June 21, 2025.

She leaves her children, John P. ‘Jay’ Giordano, Jr. (Carla) of Burlington, Philip A. Giordano (Theresa) of Alfred, Maine, David J. Giordano (Helena) of Carlisle and Mary G. Brackett (Christopher) of Watertown; her grandchildren, Christopher, Michelle, Paige, Michela, Mason, John and Mark Giordano, Chet and M.J. Brackett; her great-grandson, Peter Giordano and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Jane was also the mother of the late Mark Giordano and sister of the late Ruth Altrich.
