James F. O'Mara

Mr. James F. O’Mara, of Onset, formerly of Waltham, died Saturday, November 5, 2022 in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. He was 72.

James was born in Waltham on December 13, 1949, a son of the late Daniel E., Jr. and Helena T. (Richard) O’Mara. A graduate of Waltham High School, he furthered his education at Franklin Institute in Boston where he learned to be an electrician. Always looking to help others, he returned to the institute as a faculty member helping students to learn the trade.

He was known for his skill at playing bridge, and frequented vacation spots in St. Maarten and other Caribbean destinations throughout the years.

He leaves his siblings, Paul J. O’Mara (late Eileen) of Wayland, William R. O’Mara (Martha) of Waltham, Judith O’Mara of Brockton, and several nieces and nephews. James was also the brother of the late Daniel E. O'Mara, III (Carol ) of Wisconsin.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 10 a.m. in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, 999 Belmont Street, Watertown. Following the committal relatives and friends are invited to Barrett's Ale House, 674 W Center Street, West Bridgewater for a reception honoring Jim's life.
