James J. Nigro, of Watertown, died Sunday, May 4, 2025, at his home. He was 71.
Born in Boston on July 19, 1953, Jimmy was the son of John and Rose (Franchetti) Nigro. He was raised and educated in Brighton.
In 1991, Jimmy married the love of his life, Marjorie Sheridan. They built a beautiful life together, moving to Plymouth in 2001 and later to Watertown in 2008, where he has resided since. As a dedicated member of the Local 537 of the Pipefitters Union, Jimmy contributed many years of service as a skilled HVAC technician.
Jimmy leaves his wife, Marjorie A. (Sheridan) Nigro; his daughter, Bryanna Nigro; his sisters, Patricia Nigro of Brighton and Jeanne McLaughlin (Kevin) of Waltham; his brother and sisters-in-law, Kathleen Sheridan, Janice Morrissey, Rosemary Aragones, and John Sheridan; his niece and nephew, Rosemary and Sean McLaughlin and also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
He was the brother-in-law of the late Mary Sheridan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jimmy’s life by gathering for an Afternoon Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Sunday, May 11th, from 3 to 5 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Luke's Church, 132 Lexington Street, Belmont, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Following cremation, burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
