Newton - Mr. Hector C. "Chick" Caiola, of Newton, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 59.
Hector, lovingly known to family and friends as "Chick", was born in Newton on June 29, 1953, a son of the late Guy and Franca (Peratoner) Caiola. He was a graduate of Newton North High School. On September 27, 1975 in the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church in Cambridge he married Audrey S. Seymourian and they have been lifelong Newton residents.
Chick was working as a manager for Horn Packaging Corporation in Leominster where he worked for over 38 years.
He was a hands-on type of guy who was able to fix almost anything and enjoyed working on his automobiles. He also loved a good round of golf with friends or time spent fishing, working in his yard and simply being outdoors. He adored his three granddaughters.
In addition to his wife, Audrey, he leaves his daughters, Gina Caiola, Jennifer Caiola and her fiancé, Michael Mazurek and Michelle Dargon and her husband, Thomas, all of Newton; his granddaughters, Mariyah, Isabella and Briella; his siblings, Mildred MacKenzie and her husband, Alex, of Newton, Gilda Furcillo of Littleton and Guy Caiola and his wife, Lesley, of Framingham and many nieces & nephews.
Chick was also the brother-in-law of the late Donnie Furcillo.
Family and friends will honor and remember Chick's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, March 24th from 2 to 6 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Monday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington Street, Newton where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
