Sudbury – Mrs. Gloria F. (Baker) Egerton, of Sudbury, formerly of Waltham, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 75.
Gloria was born in Medford on June 23, 1933 and was a daughter of the late Purty and Susie (Shupe) Baker. She was raised in Medford and had lived in Waltham for most of her life before moving to Sudbury six years ago. Until her retirement, Gloria worked as an accounts payable clerk for G.T.E./Sylvania in Waltham. After she retired she enjoyed spending more time with her family and friends. Her favorite spots to visit with friends were beaches in York, Maine and at Plum Island.
She leaves her children, Howard R. Egerton and his wife, Mary, of Medway, Larry B. Egerton and his wife, Eileen, of Bangor, Pennsylvania, Christine A. Caramanis and her husband, Nicholas, of Newton, Craig L. O'Brien and his wife, Carol, of Austin, Texas and John G. Egerton and his wife, Denise, of Brookline, New Hampshire; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Gloria was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Family and friends will honor and remember Gloria's life by gathering at 12 noon on Wednesday, April 22nd, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will be private.
