Gertrude A. "Trudy" Dennehy

Gertrude A. "Trudy" (Schoepf) Dennehy, of Waltham, died Monday, June 8, 2026 at her home. She was 88.

Trudy was born in Hanau, Germany on May 22, 1938, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Lippert) Schoepf. She met her husband, Ronald Dennehy, while he was in the military serving in Germany, and following their marriage moved to the United States in 1958.

Until her retirement she worked for many years as a nurses aide at Marist Hill Nursing Home and Ross Worthen Nursing Home, both in Waltham. 

Trudy kept a beautiful garden around her home and joyed crafting and dancing.  Favorite vacation spots included Wells, Maine, Cape Cod and Clearwater, Florida.

The wife is late Ronald M Dennehy, she leaves her children, Joanne. M. Curran (David) of Framingham, Scott M. Dennehy (Diane)  of Billerica and Sharon E. Richard (Robert) of Waltham; Nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was also the sister of the late Katie Voelker.

Funeral service will be private.
