Frederick A. Abrahamian

September 21, 1944 — January 19, 2024

Waltham

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Frederick “Butchie” A. Abrahamian, of Waltham, who left us on Friday, January 19, 2024. He was 79.

Fred was born in Brookline on September 21, 1944, a son of the late Frederick and Agnes (Healey) Abrahamian. Raised in Watertown, he enjoyed a long and successful career in auto sales until his retirement. On November 13, 1966, he married the love of his life, Geraldine Cappadona in Saint Jude Church on Main Street in Waltham.

At a young age, he became the patriarch of his siblings and later raised his own family. He treasured being a grandfather and always took special care of his nephew Justin, with whom he spent most weekends. Fred truly cherished every moment with his family. Throughout his life, he conveyed kindness, compassion, and genuine benevolence toward others. Whether you were a relative, close friend or an acquaintance, there were countless conversations and laughs along the way.

In addition to his beloved wife, Geraldine, he is survived by his children, Frederick Abrahamian, Jr. (Cheryl) of McDonough, Georgia, and Sharon Burke (Thomas) of Weston; his grandchildren, Jared and Josh Abrahamian, and Thomas and Connor Burke; his brothers and sisters, Esther Brackesy, Evelyn Forbes, Patricia Abrahamian, David Abrahamian, and Bruce Abrahamian, all residents of Massachusetts; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Fred was also the brother of the late Gail Morgan and Joanie Abrahamian.

In loving memory, family and friends will celebrate his life and remember Fred by gathering for calling hours at The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Saturday, March 30th from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 12:30 p.m. To view a live broadcast (and recording) of the prayer service please visit my.gather.app/remember/frederick-abrahamian
